The Senior Executive Team of Wits has released a statement pertaining to the fees announcement made by Blade Nzimande this morning.
“Dear students/colleagues,
The Senior Executive Team of the University of the Witwatersrand notes the announcement made by Dr Blade Nzimande, Minister of Higher Education and Training today. The Minister recommends to universities a maximum of 8% increase, but the state will subsidise for all those with a family income less than R600 000 per annum.
The University will analyse the recommendations and will consult with relevant University stakeholders before making recommendations to Council.
The academic programme and all University activities continue as planned. Please report any disruptions or incidents to your nearest Campus Control Office or call x74444 or x76666.
