Dynamic, driven, kind, trail-blazing and resilient are some of the words you’ll find yourself using when describing this young woman, Thando Sibiya.
THANDO SIBIYA, a hardworking, free spirited, sporty scholar of note, had initially planned to study dentistry but settled on a BA, majoring in International Relations, French and Politics.
Not only is Sibiya a beauty with brains but in between juggling university she began to explore her talents, starting as a presenter at VoW FM in 2016.
Sibiya stepped up her passion for being behind the mic and joined MultiChoice Diski Challenge on SuperSport in 2016/17 as a presenter. As the youngest presenter on the team, Sibiya says she has learnt a lot about professionalism, communication and being patient with herself. “I’m very nervous for this season but again I’ll give it my best shot and really looking to work [even] harder than last season,” she said. She is ultimately looking to be a part of the advancement of women.
Although her degree is slightly different to her true passion for sport, Sibiya says, “The end goal is to work for an organisation like Fifa.” The 20-year-old hopes to be part of the managerial side of sport and also work with South Africa’s Department of Sports and Recreation. “I believe there is a lot of influence that needs to go into the role of women in sport across the field.”
Always being diligent, Sibiya takes no days off until she gets the job done, and takes this mantra into the gym, training five times a week. When the avid sports enthusiast is not spreading her wings working as a Red Bull angel, Sibiya spends some of her down time trying her hand at boxing.
The sports presenter is young, strong and works hard, never sleeping until she gets her multiple jobs done.
