Wits Film and Television graduate, Mosa Kaiser, has joined the SABC3 Expresso breakfast show as a field reporter after winning a presenter search competition.
Kaiser made her debut on Expresso on Monday, August 13, two weeks after the six winners were chosen in the Presenter Search competition. The 27-year-old said she was very excited and honoured to join the SABC family as she had never thought she had what it takes to be a TV presenter.

Early this year I got a corporate job after years of struggling to get employed, and later found out that it was a scam. I used this opportunity to keep myself busy and something great came out of it,” she said.
Kaiser said that winning the competition gave her an opportunity to turn a new leaf in her life.“I pushed myself beyond what I believe I could accomplish. Fear to fail is what kept me in the competition,” Kaiser added.
The new field reporter graduated with a BA Honours in Film and Television in 2016. She said she intends to open a company that will help arts graduates to enter the entertainment industry.
“It’s very difficult to enter this industry after graduating, that’s why most arts graduates end up in corporate. I want to play an active role to change that.”
She said the skills she acquired at Wits are now coming handy because when filming an insert as she writes her own scripts.
Speaking of Kaiser’s success, Wits head of Film and Television, Kenneth Kaplan, said Kaiser is an example of what happens when you pursue things that you’re passionate about.
“We are very proud of her as the department, she is a great reflection of the university. We strive to produce the best graduates who are equipped enough to fulfil their dreams with dedication,” Kaplan said.
Kaiser started her acting career at the tender age of six in Takalani Sesame. She also had a supporting role in the 2004 Academy Award-nominated movie, Hotel Rwanda.
