All four players featured in the match at the Moses Mabida Stadium in Durban over the international break. Bidvest Wits coach, Gavin Hunt, believes that the players were chosen because of the specific qualities they have in their respective positions.
“They are gaining experience and we are so happy for them, we hope that more players from Bidvest Wits make the national team,” he added.
Bidvest Wits striker, Mxolisi Macuphu was called in to replace an injured Lebo Mothiba.
Macuphu told Wits Vuvuzela that he was delighted and humbled to be playing for Bafana Bafana in the AFCON qualifier.
“It’s a great feeling always to achieve national colours, it keeps you on your toes to deliver and to do well nationally and in club level. My hopes are to continuously be part of the national team and hopefully achieve and qualify for the AFCON finals,” Macuphu said.
Bafana Bafana will play their third set of qualifying matches against the Seychelles next month.
