The student accommodation is a mixed gender residence with apartments that come fully furnished and beat competitive prices.

Life Student, a new student accommodation at 12 De Korte Street in Braamfontein will be launched on Friday, September 03, 2021.

The launch comes after increased demand for accommodation from students. The Life Student team, who declined to give their names to Wits Vuvuzela says, “The demand for student accommodation is even bigger than supply, that’s why most businesses nearby opt to change to student accommodation.”

The team says they’ve named the residence ‘Life Student’ because they offer comfort, security, and luxury at affordable rates.

With over 120 beds available, the residence intends to cater to students from various institutions and not only Wits students. According to lifestudent.co.za ,they offer single; two sharing and three sharing units with amenities such as an outdoor cinema, outdoor study area and clubhouse, among others. The units cost R3 500; R2 900 and R2 300 respectively, cheaper than most of other student accommodations in Braamfontein.

Nolwazi Dlamini, a tenant and Wits first-year LLB student, told Wits Vuvuzela that she was attracted to the residence because of its proximity to shops and the university. Dlamini also says, “The pricing for the room I got, which is R2 900, is quite fitting for it. I appreciate that when I come back to the building late at night, security guards are always outside and their friendliness creates a great atmosphere.”

After considering the number of applications they received, the Life Student team said there seems to be an uptrend in occupancy rates and they intend to take advantage of this by building more student accommodation buildings in the near future.
